Hello There!

I first discovered photography in junior high, when I enrolled in a course my school offered—and instantly fell in love. For the first time, I found an art form that let me create anything I imagined. As someone who hadn’t really clicked with other artistic mediums, it felt incredible. The more I explored, the more I realized I could share that feeling with others. Showing people portraits I’d taken of them and watching their faces light up made me realize just how powerful photography could be. Making people feel beautiful became my favourite part of the process.

In 2015, I graduated from NAIT’s Photographic Technology program, equipped with all the skills I needed to help people look and feel amazing for years to come. And with that, Nutmeg Photography came to life.

I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your family, whether it’s just the two of you or a whole bustling crew!

Behind the lens

On September 13, 2020, I married my high school sweetheart—one of the happiest days of my life.

And of course, my dogs were part of the celebration (and honestly, yours should be too!). They trotted down the aisle with our sisters, bringing just the right amount of chaos and comic relief. There were a few tangled leashes and a whole lot of tail wagging, but no one got licked to death, so I’m calling that a major success.

Having them there made the day feel even more “us,” and it reminded me how special it is to include the ones—human or furry—who make your life whole.

Now our little family lives on five acres just south of Sherwood Park, where we spend plenty of time outdoors and love hosting family and friends for dinner.
